On the 23rd-26th of May all adult EU citizens have the opportunity to elect who will represent them in the European Parliament.
The European Parliament has strong influence on many of the laws that shape the lives of millions of EU citizens. Moreover, the EU Parliament is the most democratic institution of the European Union since its members are elected directly by the people.
However, in the last election for the Parliament, the voter turnout was just 42.61%! In the spirit of the European Parliament's campaign #thistimeimvoting, some student & citizen-led organizations decided to organize a march in Gothenburg to raise awareness and encourage higher voter turnout at the European Elections in May this year.
Come join us for the march on May 5th. So get up from your couch next Sunday, grab your friends, bring some banners and help us to raise awareness for these important elections!
Otherwise, please don't forget to make your voice heard and vote. The future of the European Union depends on you!
The march is being organized by the following organizations:
UF - Utrikespolitiska Föreningen Göteborg
Social Science Environment Student Association
Pulse of Europe
Date and time: 5th of May, 14:00-16:30
Meeting point: Vasaplatsen, 41126 Göteborg
End point: Gustaf Adolfs Torg
