On the 5th of May, a number of student- and citizen-led organizations organised a 'Let's go vote'-demonstration on the streets of Gothenburg, in order to raise awareness for the European Parliament elections on the 26th of May.
Around 30 participants marched from Vasaplatsen to Brunnsparken: equipped with posters, EU-flags and give aways and constantly singing "Den här gången röstar jag" - the overarching motto of the march - they made sure pedestrians on their Sunday walk through Gothenburg's city center learned about the approaching elections.
Reactions from the people we talked to were mainly positive. However, some people did not know about the elections at all, which clearly shows that events like this are very much needed in order to increase the voter turnout for the election of the most democratic institution of the European Union.
